Keeled Skimmer
Keeled Skimmer
'Keeled Skimmer' is actually Rob Sawyer a 'forty-something' who plays a bit of piano and guitar and lives in Southampton. In 1981 and 1982, in his early twenties, Rob got all het up about stuff and decided to pour his heart out on the piano by composing a suite of songs.
In 2006 he remembered how to play 4 of them and in 2007 he was able to fund some totally self-indulgent recording sessions and the result is 'Jacquard' an 'EP CD' consisting of those very same angst ridden songs:
A part of me
Sense of loss
Substitute love
This time it's for real
A keeled skimmer is a species of dragonfly and 'jacquard' is just a word he liked since hearing it for the first time in 1989.
