Keane Freeman is an exclusive singer/songwriter who blends elements of rock, country, and blues through his superb and highly original rhythm guitar riffs, plaintive voice, and warm, smooth melodies. During early 2007, Freeman began performing in Temecula, California and has since performed throughout the Southwestern United States before returning to his hometown of Oceanside, California in 2009. Freemanâs old-world style of songwriting is often comparable to such folk artists as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Johnny Cash. Currently in the works is his international debut, âœThe Nomadâ, on which Freeman assumes the roles of singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. The album showcases Freemanâs penchant for acoustic guitar songwriting on such essential compositions from his live performances as âœJohn Lawâ, the bone-chilling outlaw saga of a man haunted by a guilt-ridden and murderous past. Also of note is the ethereal âœThe Nomadâ, a staple of Freemanâs performances since his establishing first days on the Southern California open mic circuit. Freeman has an uncanny sense of rhythm and a knack for percussive melodies developed through years as a session musician and self-produced recording artist. The singer has recorded and performed guitars, keyboards, harmonica, bass, and other instruments in a number of genres including rock, country, hip hop, and reggae, among others. He has also produced eleven albums and although none have been released internationally, a recording of âœJohn Lawâ was featured on the album âœChill Out: An Acoustic Comp., Vol.7â released internationally by Quickstar Productions in 2007. In June 2009, Freeman joined long time friend Daniel Amatulli as part of the innovative rock/blues trio âœThe Blondes of Vertigoâ. They are currently recording a new album. Freemanâs recordings have been hailed by critics as âœâa possible commercial success under present United Kingdom conditionsââ and âœsomething one would happily listen to on a melancholic eveningâ. In a 2007 interview for The North County Times, the singer is himself asked to describe the feeling of his live performances: "Be prepared to be swept back to a simpler time with a soothing mix of country, blues, and folk rock," said Freeman. "You will be drawn in by the intimacy and charisma of my performance persona."
