We are Ascension...and this is how we do it. We are four guys joined together for one cause...to play great music and have a good time doing it. We write the music we wanna play, and that you want to hear. What you see with us is exactly what you get. Check out the tunes, tell us what you think and come hang with us at a show sometime.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Ascension initially started in the winter of 2006. John Burke, and Derek Mueller went to college together finding a friendship with each other through their love of playing guitar, and music. Soon after they wanted to construct a band. After playing a number of Kansas City's finest musicians Luke Smatla, a drummer from the small town of Oskaloosa KS joined up as the bands full time drummer in October of 06. Luke's dedication, talent, and overall positive attitude easily fused with John and Derek's and a deep friendship was forged through good music. In December Jake Bollinger joined the band as their bassist. Soon after Ascension played their first show in February of 07', and recorded their first Demo the following April. The band has a positive attitude and tight bond and hope to convey it out to crowds at shows, and in everything they do.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We love to play live... As Lemmy from Motor head said. "Your not a true band unless your gigging". We usually play around the KCMO, KCK Area. You never where we will shack up next.
