Kayo is a mature independent hip hop artist looking to get signed with a major label. All songs include well developed lyrics, nice productions, over selective beats. A sure hit to hit #1 in soundclicks unsigned bands in a short time span.
Band/artist history
1995-first live performance, I was like 12 years old and I was in the school talent show. That may sound like nothing to anyone but it broke the ice for me and that rush I got on stage is a passion that gives me fire to this day to keep going. 1995-2000-still in high school did a lot of "computer/net" tracks but mostly worked on devloping "kayo" a/k/a "Kayo Law" 2000+ joined a rap krew based in Detroit called Black Mafia, multiple performances, and came in contact with a lot of major labels. Did a lot of "networking" and accepted a lot of criticism to help me grow as an artist....Music is an art-
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I perform in a lot of battles when moneys involved, I can always use the extra cash. Right now I sent a demo out and got good feedback at local spots for live performances but now that I have all my own studio equipment I get to spend a lot more time working on my album. Im very much of a perfectionist when it comes to my music.
Your musical influences
I like a mixture of a lot of different types of music. Scott Creswell, is a blues/soul/country music singer who is a good buddy of mine and he inspires me a lot in my own music. He's about to blow big in Nashville and I dont know a lot about country but to anyone who does....he better than Travis Tritt- 2pac inspires me because he had a big influence on me during my teenage years when I kind of had a "fuck the world" mentality but I later grew out of it. Like in one track I say "At 15 I didnt listen pops...I listened to Pac, Every cd released I used to go cop, and when he talked about trees I was rollin it up, and when he yelled WESTSIDE I was throwin it up...." I love Pac's music. Eminem has a major influence because I watched him develop through his music and he's an inspiration to a lot of cats...if you ever read this Keep doin ya thing Em you got mad love from ya cats back in Michigan. Gangstarr has also had a major impact, Guru is the master of the multisyllable verses.
What equipment do you use?
I have a Yamaha 16 track multi-track recorder wit a built-in CDRW drive...a DR-5 drumkit for ill baselines...multiple computer programs and samplers..
Anything else?
Give the Music a chance because as soon as you hear a track you are going to be like Man.....this kid is hot-
