Kaya Williams
Kaya ((Kah yah)) has developed an outstanding voice tone that beautifully merges soul and gospel. Kayas artistical style sensationally travels into the R&B/ Hip Hop realm. She can do it all! Kaya fell in love with music and wrote her first song at ten years old. Her dream was to write music for the talent of the world. Through the years, Kaya became interested in singing. She sang at church, community choirs took her north, and during her college days, she sang with various groups on the campus of Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. Kaya studied various artistical styles, until her own style emerged. Her mother, Kathy, sang with the Voices of Hope and her father, Reggie, plays saxophone with Charmaine Neville and Friends.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live when I can at church functions or local concerts.
The most special moments are when I am singing with my husband Raymond Williams.
Your musical influences
Besides Kayas parental musical influences, CeCe Winans, Kirk Franklin, and Lisa McClendon to India Arie, Roberta Flack, and Angie Stone have tremendous influences.
Anything else?
I thank GOD for my gifts. I am thankful to the people who come together to encourage me to keep going.
