Katie Tropp is a 27 year old crazy ass mutha fucka! She is nothing like any female emcee out there, current or from the past. Don’t let the blonde haired, blue eyed, skinny frame fool you, she’s fire behind the mic! She will have you laughing your ass off to one song, while you wonder if she might actually try to murder you in the next one. Katie goes by her name because she does not have an alter ego, she presents herself as is. She is not trying to put up a front and always keep it real in each and every song she writes. What you see and hear from her is what you get! Katie was born in San Jose, CA so she is heavily influenced by West Coast legends such as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, 2pac and Snoop Dogg. But as she grew older the love for hip hop also grew, she started rhyming at 15 years old and hasn’t looked back! At age 18 Katie cut her first four track demo and recorded it in a friends studio in four hours and that’s when she decided to get more serious with her music. She started looking into her own recording equipment and started buying beats and slowly started the process of her debut album “Krazy Kracka.” At first she was doing everything on her own until she was contacted by Lecxs the CEO of an underground label based in Abilene, TX. He discovered her looking around on Myspace and immediately knew he wanted to work with Katie and that she would be a great addition to Blaqman Records. Once Katie signed on she went out to Abilene to record some songs for “Krazy Kracka” and laid down 13 tracks in about 5 hours! Katie is not only signed as an artist to Blaqman Records, but she also is the VP of Sales & Publicity for Blaqman Records.
“Krazy Kracka” is 20 tracks of straight insanity! It’s an album that gives you a good idea of who Katie Tropp really is. Katie will come at you in many different ways on this album, you get an idea of her sick sense of humor in the title track “Krazy Kracka,” you can feel her anger in the song “Trust Nobody,” and she can even come at you with a point of view that isn’t even her own in “Hey Bitch!” She also is not shy about her love of weed throughout the album. Katie is raw and always keeps it real, her music is for anyone who is pissed off, ready to party, someone who relates to the lyrics, or just someone who likes music!
