Howdy. I am Katherine Donovan, and I've been playing guitar for about two years now. I've been singing since age four and I've been writing music for about four years. My "band" has one member, which is me, and I play guitar and I sing. I play my original music and i also perform covers of songs by Rilo Kiley, the Postal Service, Damien Rice, The Cure, Ben Folds, Pefdro the Lion, and many more.Have you performed in front of an audience?I've performed at the Starbucks on Chapman, I've had my music featured in a college production of "Romeo & Juliet" (directed by John DeMita), I've performed at schools, and at parties. I perform to both intimate and larger audiences.
Your musical influences
Rilo Kiley is a HUGE influence- I adore their music. Jenny Lewis and I have very similar vocal styles. I've grown up listening to Elvis Costello and the Beatles, so one could say that they influence me musically. I listen to many different genres of music, and they all influence me in some way.What equipment do you use?
I use my Ovation electric/acoustic guitar, and my voice. For recording, I use Cakewalk's SONAR software, a rode mic, and sometimes a midi organ.Anything else?
I'd really like to play at some well-known venues, so if you know anyone or are some one who could assist me, I'd be very grateful.i don't know if you update this site anymore but it's the only way i could find your music. i came across your "is this feasible?" song on myspace a couple of years ago and i still listen to it. you are so incredibly talented and i wish there was someway for me to get ahold of more that you've recorded. i'm not the type of person to make such an effort to comment on the work of someone i randomly heard on the internet, but yea, you're that good. so good luck; do whatever your better judgement lets you to be famous someday.
