Christian Pop

I've been singing, writing, and playing a long time. I've sung with different bands and groups, both Christian and secular. In wasn't until eight years ago that I started writing Christian music. It was during a time in my life that I experienced some very hard times, but had come through those times only because God was (and is) constant, merciful, and ever-faithful. He is so awesome and I wanted to write songs of praise and adoration for all He had done for me. I felt so undeserving, thus the song, Undeserved, the title track to my first CD, was born.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play live in local churches, community worship events, and various Christian music venues.
Your musical influences
I was in college when I saw Sandi Patti open for a famous Christian rock band. I was so blown away by her performance that I didn't really pay much attention to the other band. I'm also interested in new or emerging worship bands to see how Christian music has changed. Lately, I've been interested in BarlowGirl; she has interesting lyrics that give people a lot to think about.
What equipment do you use?
My favorite way of performing is just with my keyboard and a microphone; more of an intimate personal relationship with the audience or congregation. I like having more of a conversation with them in which we all worship God together through music.
Anything else?
One of my favorite things to do is to get a bunch of musicians together, each with their own ideas and experiences and then combine all those gifts and talents to create music to worship God. For me, that is SO fun!
