Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Lucena, Semi-finals RedHorse Muziklaban Rock Challenge 2006 -- before Kamia took centerstage, "it may take a lifetime to change a city, but what if we’ll live only for this night..." says Jude [Bass], as the group hurdles for a prayer. After the performance, Kamia rose up to be the South Luzon Region Champion, hence, made it to the Finals, and changed the face of Naga City’s new generation rock scene.
Kamia is a five-piece rock group all hailing from Naga City. Formed back in 2006 to step up the rock challenge of RedHorse Muziklaban. Romel Sandagon [vox], Jeffrey Regullano [guitar], Mach Onrubia [guitar], Jude Onrubia [Bass] and Pao Balbastre [Drums].
Technically, their music would fall into Screamo/ Emo, but the band prefered to be "un-caged/ un-classiffied" from under one genre, knowing that somehow it would restrict the music writing process of the group. "Music is first and foremost personal, you can never be honestly and intimately share your music to others without being one with it," as Jeff claims it.
The band had so far radio-released their first single, "One Minute [of] Silence", and has gained kudos and support from the local scene. Presently, Kamia has been preparing for the release of their EP.
