Band/artist history
Jack Wyles is (Just_Seein_Whats_Up).
I studied with the late legendary bassist and composer Jaco Pastorius, and was leader and executive producer of the Oakland,CA band " In The Pocket!",whose C.D.was put into initial nomination for a Grammy in 1993 for Best New Jazz-Fusion Instrumental Group. This new C.D., "Just_Seein_Whats_Up", ranges from funk and hip-hop to swing jazz to rock...from jamming instrumentals to spoken word and rap. It does bend a few genres....but as beatnik / sage Mr Espresso says:
Time for the light to turn green
Maybe change the scene
You know what I mean?
Time to find a new street to walk on
To open up, to drink from the cup.
Re-configure the paradigm of linear time
Flippin, trippin like a spaceship ride
as you slide......
Touch the colors floating by
You can climb above the sublime.
It aint free
but it's worth it to see
the inter-connectivity
of you and me.
Kinda makes you wanna go
BLIP - BLOP
Shoobie Doobie
DRIP - DROP
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Occasionally.....Mostly studio
Your musical influences
Miles Davis, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock
Anything else?
I truly put alot of myself into recording "Just_Seein_Whats_Up"...Hope you enjoy it!

Hey Thanks Jack!...I feel guilty as I have been meaning to do something with your beat and riff you sent me, I've currently about twelve collaborations behind due to my marriage to Tarni, who is the lady for whom I wrote the Piece. I have moved my studio around 300k's to inland Australia, but it is beautiful here, out of my window I can see just the wilderness, birds, sheep, lama's, donkeys, etc, etc. No more city living for me. It means, however that I can really be creative. I want to build a state of the art recording facility here, I've got a lot of ideas for what I want in the 'perfect studio'.I think sunlight and space is condusive to a relaxing atmosphere that the musician feels comfortable in, and therefore is able to really let the creative juices flow. I'll have all the gear up here soon, but I've got to build the building which is half underground and looks more like a spaceship than a studio!, anyway enough rambling on....thanks again, and I'll try to look at those ideas so
Very smooth tune. Production is excellent. Instrument choices are perfect and the sax is on the money.
I sang a couple cover tunes let me know what you think of them :D thanks they are the first two on my page :D
