Just Like Always is a DC area rock band established in the summer of 2005. Born directly out of the breakup of former project The Cheats, JLA reflects years of maturation and a desire to bring fun yet refined rock to music listeners. Infectious hooks and brutal rhythms run abound throughout the various songs off the band's freshman EP. The recipe: one part anger, two parts heartbreak, and a dash of "fuck you".
Just Like Always is a name that reflects the attitude that the band takes towards all the negative things they have faced while heading towards their mid and late-20s. With a shrug of the shoulder Just Like Always trudge on through the endless patterns of disillusionment and insouciance.
Drawing influence from a library of music as varied as the prize selection at a penny arcade, Just Like Always has created a blend of classic punk, Seattle rock, classic Springsteen, mid-80s DC emo, and neo-punk. The sound is new, fresh, and more mature than the music being peddled to the masses on the radio today.
Just Like Always believes that live performance is an art of its own, separate from the art of the music. Because of this they have elevated their live performances to something far more epic than your standard fare.
With an enthusiastic freshness and zeal, Just Like Always looks to take their sound to the next level. By combining the energy of their previous work with a renewed devotion, Just Like Always continues to bring their fans unforgettable music thick with themes of survival, hope, and searching for the light at the dark end of the street.
