1) What made me start this business?
I started singing at the age of 7 in church. What made me start getting into music as a profession was knowing that music is my passion. I wake up and breath music everyday. I like telling my stories or the stories of others. My goal is to change lives.
2) What obsticles did i have to overcome?
I had to overcome the obsticles of those telling stories of who they know knowing they do not know them. The obsticle of people using me for money so they felt they can take advantage of me and most of all, the obsticle of not being believed in by those who say they did buy did not mean it. They believe in my music but not my goal to success.
3) I learned that most people will tell you what you want to hear just to use you and then there are others you that want to see you succeed. Choose your friends and people you choose to work with wisely. Do your research and know all the variables. It will save you a lot of trouble.
4) My goal in this business is to get rich but be successful.
5) The most fun i have had so far was meeting so many talented artist and getting to know successful people in the business such as Coolio and his manager, Pretty Ricky, Zackary Ceaser with REG Entertainment, etc.
6) What surprised me most are the number of people that support my music across the world. It feels good knowing you reach other countries and cities that others dream about visiting.
7) I love being my own boss because it gives me the flexability i need in order to make good music. On the other hand im not really my own boss in most aspects because i have managers and others to refer to. I mean, yes the work for me but i also work for them as well. Its a win win situation in most situations. Lol
8) I wouldn't change anything because life is a learning experience. Without learning then i would not be where i am today and know what I know. If there was one thing i wish i knew before anything it would be about contracts. Always use one even when its family involved because even family can cross you.
9) The advice I give others are to make friends and network with everyone you meet. Dress to impress and stay focused. You never know who you will meet. Always be open to knew ideas and opinions. Work together and expand on them. Become greater then yourself.
11) I wish people would understand this life is not an easy road and it is very expensive but you must invest in yourself before anyone invests there time and or money into you.
12) On my off time i spend time with my family and kids. Every now and then hang out with my friends. But mostly i am always thinking of music and writing songs. Arranging them, etc. As I stated previously my mind is always on music.
13) I market myself on Instagram, Reverbnation, Twitter, etc and do a lot of contest in which people can win products for knowing and learning about me and my music.
14) As far as my future goes, I have already seen the vision of myself being successful. I know i will be able to take care of my family and make all the non believers believers.
15) My next goal is to go main stream with my music so everyone knows my name 'Justin Brown.' I am aiming to sign a contract with a record label that will get me to where i am dreamt of being for over 10 years.Band/artist history
Ladies and Gentleman. The moment youve all been waiting for. A singer, songwriter and producer who tries to inspire others by using his charm and voice to get his point across. The point is that everyone goes through similar struggles within a lifetime. They may not be the exact same situations, but we can all relate. When asked Who are my musical influences?, Noels answer is humble and straight forward. He replies, Himself. Yes, there are many artists I looks up to because they have paved the way for those who came after but I am striving to be original and give the audience a performance they can remember for a lifetime. Its all about the audience in the first place. Without them I wouldnt be around, and without artists from the past and present I would never have had the dream of reaching out and helping others understand their feelings. I mean, when you listen to a song that truly touches your heart, you relate it to your life. No one in the world is alone when it comes to problems. I am 34 years old. My name is Justin "Noel" Brown and I was born December 28th 1983. I began singing in church choirs at the age of 7. A military brat from Honolulu, Hawaii, I moved around a lot as a kid between the east and west coasts. My father is Gregory Brown and my mother is Fabian Mulholland. My mother left when i was very young for reasons i do not know of. I keep in constant contact with her but ironically do not keep in much contact with my father.
In the midst of all the talent that the world has to offer I fuelled my brain with the voices of artist such as Michael Jackson, Dru Hill, Stevie Wonder, Usher and Jagged Edge. These artists to are known to be my foundation when it comes to the reason why I right and sing from my heart.
My dream is to be on the road with superstars and learn day by day what it is like to put forth as much effort and sacrifice to do what I enjoy and love. I am also doing this for my kids. I want to provide a better life for them. I want to also show them that following your dreams and working hard will pave the way to achieve any and all goals. I love to entertain and I have always wanted to put my life experience into music. I want this opportunity because i have always had the burning passion, drive and ambition to want to learn and comprehend what real music and real music business is about.
People i know in the industry are Pretty Ricky and there manager Jerry Willaims who own JW Management. He also brought up and coached Pleasure P to become the person he is today. I also know the Owner of Blue Star Entertainment.
In addition to singing, I add dancing and theatrics to my stage act. The dancing and singing is a way to catch the audiences attention and put your words into actions to express the true meanings of the lyrics. I intend to expand my talents into the art of acting. I look up to Jim Carry, Chris Tucker, Jamie.Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson, Tyler Perry and also you may find this hard to believe--Jet Li. To show people multiple sides of my personality lets the fans get a closer look into my life and what I love in it. I love to act goofy, serious and loving, so to show these sides of me and bring joy into peoples lives is something that makes me extremely happy and thankful for the opportunity that not many can have. Over all Noel explains all I can do is my best and learn from my mistakes because learning from my mistakes will pave the path in my life for greatness. With God on my side walking with me I cant go wrong.Have you performed in front of an audience?I have performed in front of artists such as Trina and a lot of other mainstream artists but my most memorable performance was performing for my favorite artist Dru Hill.
