Tahitian Terror Tahitian Terror
Sound Collage with samples drawn from Tahitian music as well as a classical symphony (which I will not name).
FEED THE BIRDS FEED THE BIRDS
Created as the soundtrack for a Zombie-themed comic book advertisement.
Panned Ghosts Panned Ghosts
This piece is constructed from a sampled piano line and a toy keyboard, both of which I recorded. The contrasts between acoustic and electronic sounds as well as registrally differentiated melodic lines are highlighted by the use of panning.
Sonnet 3 Sonnet 3
for vocal duet is my interpretation of a poem written by Kate Debolt. The piece moves rapidly through multiple keys, giving it a backdrop of atonality contrasted with moments of tonal color.
Parallel Conversations for brass quintet Parallel Conversations for brass quintet
This piece takes advantage of the homogenous sounds made possible by the timbral similarities in the brass quintet to create minimal textures. The piece is clearly tonal, but dissonance is nearly always present, casting a varied degree of shadow.
I am a composer of contemporary classical music, as well as a producer of various types of electronic and jazz musics. Aesthetically, I enjoy experimenting with minimal textures in conjunction with fleeting tonality and coloristic settings. Panned Ghosts is my most significant experiment to date in the synthesis of electronic and classical musics.Alban Berg, Igor Stravinsky, Arnold Schoenberg, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Louis Andriessen
