The music of the Nashville-based band Junkdrawer is equally essential in a musical climate of cookie cutter bands. As impossible to forget as it is to categorize, the quartet founded by John Cochran is on a mission to prove that a band with the versatility to play it all with equal finesse- funk, pop, hard rock- can still possess a unique defining sound. That sound is consistently melodic and insistently catchy, yet creates surprises for the listener with every song. Junkdrawer was formed in Los Angeles Ca. by Johnny Cochran. The band played The "usual" Sunset strip clubs and built a following. They recorded a 6 song ep produced by Johnny Cochran. Got radio play at 100's of college radio stations. Yet the group did'nt stay together.Johnny Moved to Nashvlle Tn. to reform the group. With John being the primary songwriter and the owner of the name Junkdrawer, he picked up right where he left off. Junkdrawer began playing clubs and preparing for the Recording of their Self Produced Full length cd Entitled 506.
The band has played from Los Angeles to Nashville where they have received rave reviews from popular Southern California publications and talent scouts. Music Connection (Southern Cal.) said: "Keep your eye on this band; they have the building blocks to evolve into a reliable AOR major label act." Ø In July '97, the band played at the Universal Studios Hard Rock Cafe as one of four finalists in the discmakers battle of the bands. That same year they released their debut self-titled 6 song E.P. They also released the single "Lucy" on the Indy Hits (www.indyhits.com) CD compilation which was distributed to 700 college and major rock radio stations gaining some good exposure for the group early on.

Ø In 1998 Cochran moved away from Los Angeless saturated market of bands and pay to play clubs to Nashville, TN "Music City" Where he planned to tour with his new band in the southeast. He reformed Junkdrawer with new members
o Johnny Cochrans vocal style can be described as a mix of Dave Grohl, Scott weiland and Jon Bonjovi. He fronts the band Slinging a Les Paul low, which he plays with conviction, while he sings memorable songs that wont leave your head. The songs he creates range from making the listener want to dance, rock out, or fall in love.
o Will Greens "in-the-pocket" finger-style bass playing is a mix of slapping and popping, that's just what the doctor ordered. He is a virtuoso on the bass, Young and talented beyond the scope of todays simple rock players he has the ability of Flea and Les Claypool to draw from making him a great asset to Junkdrawers Danceable modern Rock sound. With new members of this caliber, Junkdrawer was really back in business.
Ø By mid 1998 Cochran had written a pile of new material, which further focused the sound and direction of the band, writing some of his best songs to date. The band played all over Nashville developing their sound and fan base while preparing to record their debut full length CD entitled 506.
Ø from 1999 - 2002 Junkdrawer finished up their Recording and decided to hit the road and get the word out. They toured in North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio and of course all over Tennessee. They Played gigs as an original/ Cover band Therefore earning enough money to support their tour and enable them to quit their day jobs. Being the headliner every night of their own tour also helped to season the bands endurance, playing over 3 hours per night, making them more than ready for explosive original performances lasting a mere 45 minutes to an hour.
o Junkdrawers debut CD produced a song called once is never enough which went to number one on the internet rock charts at soundclick.com out performing even a major band like fastball (Hollywood Records) who was on the charts at the time.

Ø In 2003 Junkdrawer was notified that they were accepted to tour Overseas with the USO, an exciting adventure they are all looking forward to. Tracks for the follow up cd are started soon to be available.
Ø In 2004 Junkdrawer has another song on the soundclick.com charts to mention. The song smack has reached #3 On the rock charts !!!!, and another song called Without my Baby is rising quickly as well.
o The band has continued playing the Nashville Club scene and broadening their fan base.
o Junkdrawer opened for Skid Row in Nashville on May 20th.
o The band has received airplay on a major radio station in Nashville.102.9 the buzz
o The band will be co headlined the grand opening of the new Nashville club The Gatewayon July 23rd and 24th with Bombshell Crush, another Nashville Favorite.
o the band will did an on air interview on august 15th at the 102.9 FM the buzz radio station.
o The band will continue playing and touring while seeking a recording contract.
