Jump the Gun has been approached for a publishing deal through Attack Records for it's first 50 plus compositions. Jump The Gun's principal songwriter, Doug Wardrope, continues to compose new songs at a prolific rate. JTG plans to settle on this deal that involves Cherry Lane Music
before the end of first quarter 2002.
Jump the Gun’s performances are tight and in your face with crunchy, catchy, quirky, swirling rhythms. Described as “vital, powerful modern rock with outstanding vocals”, they have graced the stages of clubs ranging from NYC’s CBGBs to the 8x10’ in Baltimore as well as playing regularly at every club central PA has to offer. After you see Jump The Gun, don’t be surprised if you catch yourself singing their songs. Doug’s song writing and vocal work combined with a rock solid band simply leave you no choice.
Jump The Gun’s song “It’s Beautiful” has played on the nationally syndicated “Howard Stern Show” more than a dozen times as recently as February 2001. Their music has been featured in the movie Screen Kill, and movie music organizations such as One Music Corp and Source Q Boutique have asked permission to use their works. Virtually Alternative calls JTG’s work on the T-Rex tribute Resurrection of the Warlock “an outstanding track”. Industry insiders have recently called one of JTG’s newest tracks, Driving in Spirals, “a masterpiece”.

Jump The Gun started by Doug Wardrope in 1990 to focus on orginal material. Featured on a T.Rex/Marc Bolan tribute disc "Ressurrection of the Warlock, by Old School Records. The Smithereens, Dramarama and Jump the Gun were recognized as the top three standout bands on the disc by Virtually Alternative Magazine. Picked up by Dutch East India for internation distribution. Warmed up for the Nixons. Featured 2 songs in the film "Screen Kill" from Dark Fall Productions. One Music Corp. requested use of 3 songs for feature films, HBO, Cinemax, and television. Source Q Boutique to release song in a box set for motion picture release. Self Titled debut CD produced by Kramer of Shimmy Disc Records.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes.
