OBJECTIVE
To gain experience and increase her exposure singing in larger venues.
And to make it in Nashville as a country recording artist.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, we play anywhere and everywhere we can. Singing is what I have been doing since I was 5 years old singing on the school bus while my mom drove the bus to basketball games. The most special times are when my Dad gets up with me.
Your musical influences
Reba, I love her voice and it is really cool that we both grew up in small town's, but mine is way smaller(under 100 people) & The Judds, because my mom aways listened to them and their songs where the first tapes I bought. What equipment do you use?
Peavey and Shure, Fostex, Ovation , MackieAnything else?
. My latest album project "Small Town Heart" has a down home country appeal. Alive with the sounds of hot guitar licks and sweet violin. The song "Small Town Heart" is my first original song, co-written with my friend, Rusty Shouse, it is about growing up in a small town, going swimmin' at "The Deep Hole," (the creek that runs next to the railroad tracks), sittin' under the street light, talkin' with all our friends, always yearning to get out of town, but as the years go by you realize those were the best days ever, We can't go back to the way things were but we will always have the memories in our heart. I have a duet on the album with Alan Pitts, a singer-song writer from Tulsa, "It's True Love" this is a song about a husband and wife trying to keep their love going strong while struggling with their jobs, kids, and everyday distractions. And "Take Me Away From Here" (also written by Alan), is a song about the everyday housewife who is ready to get away from the dishes and laundry and just be alone with her husband. Just gas up the car and lets get out of here. These are just some of the songs on the album. I wanted an album to represent the thoughts, sounds and feelings of a small town girl from Terlton, Ok., population 100, (not counting dogs and cats). Of course I can only see life through my own perspective when I'm writing. But I do try to imagine what others are going through as well. All the songs on the album are story's of real country life. I don't ever want to perform songs that are not from the heart. 2.How long have you been performing? I really can't remember a time when I wasn't singing. But mom and dad says it all started when I was around 3 years old, sittin' in the back seat of our ten year old '69 Road Runner, trying to sing with my brother, Rob. He didn't think I was doing too good a job and said "Shut up Julie, you can't sing". Ever since I've been proving him wrong. 'Now he never misses a show' :-) 3.Whats more important to you money-fame-or just receiving the love from fans? Money, Fame or Love from fans? hmmm Love from my fans will always be the most important, because without them who else would listen to my music except for my family, (my biggest fans). As for money, I can't lie and say it wouldn't be great to make a living doing what I love. I think that should be every ones dream, to love what you do. And as for fame, I do feel I could definitely live without that. Yes, it is nice to get a little recognition but I wouldn't want anyone to loose sight of the fact that I am just another person trying to do what God what's me to in this ever changing world. 4.Which do you like more recording in the studio or performing live?(why) Both actually. But a good sound man is invaluable when performing live. That is why when Dad is in charge of the sound system and everything is working out great on the stage, I can take a moment and see that the audience is really enjoying my music. This gives me a great feeling inside to know I brought a little fun and happiness into someone's day. But in the studio, I just love to relax and watch a song come to life from mere words on a piece of paper. 5.If you had one wish what would it be?(anything) I wish that my parents would never grow old and for my children to grow up safe and happy. 6.If you could give some advice to A artist who might be reading this and is trying to make it what would you tell them? Sing what's in your heart, laugh, and have fun and 'Please' no more divorces.
