Julian Christian
Julian Christian... I am the whole band. All of it. I write, arrange and produce all of my own material. I play all of my own instruments and sing all of the vocal tracks.
All of my music is FREE to download... because I just love making music. So check it out. But don't be a hater and steal my work... because I'll sue you in a New York minute. :-P
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I have no band history... I just decided one day that I was done chasing after the record deal and putting up with all of the attitudes in a band and said, "I can do all of this by myself, so why not?"
I just love giving people something nice to groove to.
And here I am.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I haven't played live for some years now. I only make music for the love of it, but haven't had much desire to return to the stage. My main audience now is composed of friends and family.
Your musical influences
My main influences growing up were Prince, Michael Jackson, KISS, almost anything Motown, NIN, Stanley Jordan, Mozart, and Rachmaninov. Strange mix, huh?
What equipment do you use?
Yamaha Motif 6, Ensoniq EPS16+ (yeah, man... that board still kicks it!), a souped up PC with Cakewalk Sonar and a ton of plug-ins, a mic, and a rack mount sound processor.
Anything else?
Check out my friend and fellow Soundclick artist Richard D. Applewhite at www.soundclick.com/RichardDApplewhite if you like smooth "ridin' music." He and I collaborated on several songs from his "Love's Emotions" CD.
