This is not a band. True, this site contains recordings of groups of instrumentalists making music, but the focus is not on those instrumentalists. The focus is on the music.
I am a composer. I have only considered myself such for about three years, and I still only consider myself an amateur in the field, but I'm now studying the art of composition in college and I hope to improve my ability.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I believe I already covered this in the intro...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I'm a member of the Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic Orchestra, which gives regular concerts. I am also in a string quartet, which should perform regularly as well. But as for my music being performed, I don't know how that schedule will play out.
Your musical influences
I'm not trying to mimic anyone's style. I do, however, worship 20th century Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich, and apparently some aspects of his orchestration style have, according to my teacher, shown up in my work.
