This page's purpose is to bring the various musical endeavors of independent artist J. Rose, to the ears of those interested in hearing it.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Music, and the creation of it in various forms and styles, has been a hobby of mine for over a decade now. I've worked with countless other muscians and artists on various endeavors, and have done a few film soundtracks for independent film makers in the area.
I can't even recall all the different records and project names I've done and/or worked on over the years. Some of it can be considered music, others..I guess it depends on who you ask.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have randomly played some of my own material live when the oppurtunity arose, in the NJ, NY, and PA areas, and have played keyboards for a few bands live.
Your musical influences
My predominant music style is that of the electronic persuasion. I enjoy doing hybrid genres of music as well, but 50% of the formula is usually always electronic.
A good deal of my music influence comes from 80's musicians. Billy Idol, Journey, New Order, Joy Division, etc.
More recent influences include the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Machines of Loving Grace, and Stabbing Westward.
...yeah, and horror movie soundtracks. BIG motivator and inspiration for me.
I do alot of comedy themed music to. It's great fun.
What equipment do you use?
Keyboards of various makes and models, drum machines, samplers, computers.
