The 19th century eastern Europeans had a great musical tradition. Rather than wondering if a newborn child would be a great baseball player or MVP quarterback, proud parents used to pray that they would be musical. To find out whether they would be, they would lay the newborn baby on the floor; to one side they would place a fiddle; to the other side they would put a pot of gold. If the babys first movements were towards the fiddle, there would be great rejoicing for it was certain they would be a musician. And what if they reached for the pot of gold, you ask? Then he would be a record company executive! I tell you this story to make a point. There are those who know how to make money and there are those who know how to make music. I, being the latter need you, and in turn everyone else needs musicians. Music is what takes care of all of us. Whether it is after a tragedy, a wedding, a drive to work or just to relax to, music is constantly in our lives. It can bring joy, sadness, uplift our spirits or get us through tough times. Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I first started playing guitar and singing about 10 years ago in prison.(I did 6 years for stealing cars, in case your wondering.)It started as a way to pass time and something to be creative with. But as time went on, I got better and better and soon people wanted to hear me play. I started doing shows for the other inmates and after I got out, I deceided to pursue music as a way to make a living. It's hard to get a good job with a felony, so I deceided if I was going to be broke, I would be broke doing something I love!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes I play live around the Nashville area.
Your musical influences
