Out of the ashes of the band "Atomic Fantasy" the Solo Project Joyslam was forged. Aboriginal artist RJ Martine (Vocalist/Keys/Percussion) was determined to create a unique musical style and that he did, evidenced by his recent signing to the major label Trilogy Records International.
With over a decade of Music and Drama experience behind him, RJ has an intense passion for the arts, particularly music. After touring throughout North America, RJ cut his ties with Acting and concentrated all his efforts on Singing, and has expanded his range to 5 octaves.
Joyslam’s rhythm section compliments RJ’s performance intensity by delivering a sound that is one of resounding groove, energy and flow - resulting in the rare balance of both technicality and feel.
To support the digital/retail and radio buzz, Joyslam has played several major Festivals including opening Rock Icon, Burton Cummings of the Guess Who to a crowd of over 50,000, and at the Worldfest Multicultural Festival with musicians from Australia, South America, United Kingdom & Africa. And by thousands of the CFL's Toronto Argonaut Football fans with a high-octane performance at the Rogers Centre. In addition, Joyslam have rocked the audiences at Toronto's prestigious Festival of Beer, Fort Erie's Friendship and Sunsplash Festivals.
RJ is a charismatic powerhouse who engages his audience, commanding their attention, using drama and music to elevate the crowd revealing his creed that
“Music is Everything, Anything Else is a Distraction!”Have you performed in front of an audience?I LOVE playing live it's my opportunity to go "home". NOTHING ELSE can give you that feeling of being on stage! We play as often as possible. My Best Moment in Music..is still to come. Check out www.Joyslam.com for our upcoming gigs.

Funky!!!
Love the Funky feel on this track all set up by the guitar and everything falls into place. From the get go, a great guitar jam and excellent vocal stylings makes this song a hit in my book!!

FUNK TO SAVE MY SOUL
This is some jammin' funk music. Musicians are tight, the bassist is SICK SICK SICK good. The rhythm section as a unit is a formidable piece. Guitarist is tight. The sound overall is kind of reminiscent of a band called Marvelous Sauce out of Canada in the early 90s. Funny. Nice scat singing, vocalist. This is a level of musicianship and production that you don't often hear on Garageband, and even more rarely on the radio. Nicely done...The only thing that sucks about this song is that it ends.

DO IT
I can't stop bobbing my head!!!!
DAMN....The bass groovin' beat is SWEET! I really like the Trent Reznor touch to this song. The beat throughout this song really drives the listener into a frenzied state of mind! The vocals mix it up just enough to demand the audiences FULL ATTENTION. The subtle guitar nuances really add an extra layer to the song. I have to listen to this one more time.....DAMN....I think the mix/production for this song is perfect! Everything comes through nice and clear!

UNDERSTAND
Jump to the front of the line. Have your ID ready.
These guys sound great. The high end treble electric guitars and the deep vocals along with the dark drum track makes this song a radio must(a little like Johnny Van Zant and .38 Special). Its a very cool song and would listen to it again and again. "Follow Me" is best described as a Southern Rock song along the lines of The Outlaws and Allman Brothers.

ILLEGAL KISS
What a great Get Down Sound.
Had me worried for a second... thought you may be hip hop with that intro... really kicks! the production kiks and that Spanish guitar comes outta nowhere and WORKS! Great production.

Hey Guys, Caught your tune "Empty" on Song Planet Radio and was blown away. Great funk-rock feell with LOADS of soul. Sparkling performance by all members and great recording. The passion and fire of your singer is nothing short of "goosebump" calibre. Great song. Added to my station without hesitation. Thanks for a great soulful listening! Dre "Soul Dust"
