I am Joy and this is my solo project.Band/artist history
I have been writing since I was 13 years old. I'm currently trying to start a band with my fiance, Max, called Maxpire and Werejoy. We have songs, but Max likes to do it the old fashioned way, so we are working on cover songs right now to play when we start doing gigs.Have you performed in front of an audience?Not currently, but I hope to some day because playing live is fun.
Your musical influences
My biggest influence right now is Robert Schneider of the Apples in stereo. I love everything that man has done, is doing and will ever do as far as music. I am also very influenced by a lot of the musicians that are coming off of YouTube, such as Nice Peter, Callie Moore and All Caps, the way they have built their status really inspires me, and makes me feel like I have a chance. Other things that influence me are things that happen to me in my life, I am mostly inspired when I get annoyed or frustrated with life, or when I have forced myself to look beyond those annoyances and frustrations and see the good things happening in my life and in the world.What equipment do you use?
I use FLStudio8 for my drums, and usually try to use real instruments for everything else. I don't currently have access to a piano right now though, so all piano is also done in FLStudio.Contact

This song has a pretty cool treatment. Strong vocals, melody and cool lyrics. Nice overall mix except for the somewhat sterile drum track. This is the key you should be singing in, it sounds natural for your voice.
This is a cool tune with lots of potential. Musically it could be fleshed out a bit more, but it sounds like you are new to recording, and it will improve as you continue to write and record. The vocals are really sweet, and you have a strong sense of melody.
