Joshua Meka
From all over Southern Cali...been rhyming since '96 with heavy roots in spoken word.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Me, myself, and I really...lol...I started initially just doing spoken word showcases at Misfit 9 in Santa Ana, CA, then started on some experimental electronic shit with my boy myndjack (Jay Vierra)...At that same time, I really started exploring rhyme schemes and deliveries and really found my calling with my true love in music, hip-hop...Now Im a husband, a soldier, and a dad full time, but that doesnt stop my passion for music nor my interest in branching out with other artists to put out quality tracks.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I would love to start playing live shows again. Used to do small shows and spoken word performances until I ended up homeless and eventually, the U.S. Army.
Your musical influences
Saul WIlliams, Zack DeLarocha, Aesop Rock, El-P, Definitive Jux as a whole, Rhymesayers,Del, Linkin Park, Avenged, Atreyu, People Mover, and RadioHead just to name a few...I like driving guitars and basslines with futuristic riffs laced through them...I get off when I flow over shit like that...
What equipment do you use?
Reason, Acid Pro, Magix, and EJay
