Josh Romine
I am a single member, and create all of my music on my home pc. I've been looking for a specific type of electronic music that uses classical type instruments combined with urban beats. I couldn't really find much of a selection, so I began to create my own. My goal with this music is to keep things simple. I use very simple melodies with very simple beats. Listening to a lot of rap music, I have been heavily influenced by the small melodies placed here and there throughout their songs which are usually very basic. You know, there might be a little piano, guitar, or violin lick that pops up throughout their songs, and I always loved how effective that was. I use their influence, and sort of expand it. Please listen, and let me know what you think!!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I don't play live because I don't have the equipment. I just do everything on my home computer in my apartment.
Your musical influences
I love all sorts of music. I used to play the french horn, and am very influenced by classical music. The combination of classical instruments with bass, drum beats, and tech sounds makes for some of the most unique music. Some of the bands I really enjoy are Aphex Twin, Hooverphonic, DNTEL, The Postal Service, and Underworld. I also enjoy rap, emo, indie, and everything in between!!
What equipment do you use?
My computer and FruityLoops software. Pretty simple because I really can't afford anything high tech.
Anything else?
I really hope you enjoy my music. Like any artist, I'm open to criticism, so feel free to let me know your opinions, good or bad.
