JULY OF 2007 José Callejón gives internacional projection to the Dalías Christ of Light Celebrations translated by Araceli Rizo
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
My vocation for singing comes since I was a kid, although was on my adolescence when I felt the need to bring music to my couplets, or to arrange with the guitar. I began by singing at the cultural acts of my institute also participated at competitions of singer autors and poetry contest. After finishing the university I concentrate first of all in Theatre, making performances and directing theatre clases for kids and adults. Meanwhile I started to take more seriously the recording of my first album called Trampagos, a cabaret musical that I will present at the 2008 carnaval in Soundclick. After edition it , I was invited to write for a cultural magazine and make some colaborations as a radio announcer, for publicity spots.Until several years later, on 2005, I change my music registry, by taking the descission to produce a song called Peregrino, a intimate and spiritual theme, instead of a bitting and theatrical theme. Later on, Ive been studing on my own, about the mastering and just now I already have my own laboratory, Puppet Elfins Studio Recording and Mastering, which these days Im making the last arrangements of other themes, that from now on, I will present as a novelty at soundclick.com/josecallejon.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, although few times this year, maybe Ive been a little bit lazzy. The last time I perfeormed on april, as a participant for the National Declamation Contest celebrated in Albox (Spain), and getting the third position.
What equipment do you use?
What it refers to, the way I compose, I am acostumed to make it with a guitar, because its more easy to place at the back of my car than a piano, its easy for travel if I have to. And the thing that I cannot miss at all, is my mobile phone, in case I have an idea and I want to record it. After at home, I make use of the piano to complete those ideas and make more arrangements.
Anything else?
Give thanks to my wife, who has been my translator, interpret and my particular english proffesor during this interview. And for encourage and support me to see fulfill my recording and mastering dream.
