Jon Matheson

Jon Matheson describes songwriting as “A way of interpreting thoughts and emotions” and it is this foundation on which the majority of his songs, usually in the pop/rock genre are written.

Born and residing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jon began playing guitar at the age of sixteen. Realizing the large community of guitarists, he also began singing and writing songs as a way of merging these mediums and this has been his main focus in music.

Ultimately, the music will speak for itself. Jon has crafted songs which clearly show a songwriter exploring the depths of relationships and life itself. As stated in the first paragraph, Jon describes songwriting “As a way of interpreting thoughts and emotions”.

Nothing could define these songs more or give a person more of an outlook on the music presented here.

A full CD project is currently nearing completion, hopefully to be released in the summer of 2002. Jon’s long term goals are to receive radio play, perform solely original material and to ultimately one day be a household name
