Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started writing wierd songs when I was a freshman in high school and now that I am in college I have gone back to writing random and odd songs that burrow somewhere in my mind. Throughout this past semester I recorded long lost songs from high school and started writing new ones. My song status as of right now is over 40 and I just keep writing as long as things pop in my head. Now, I realize that not everyone is going to like my music. For one, I can't sing to save my life. In fact, if you compared my singing to milk consumption, i'd be lactose intolerant. So i recognize that people will dismiss my music on my voice initially, and the remaining brave souls who don't mind my voice might think the subject matter of my songs are too wierd or random to enjoy. Which I don't blame them because my songs are very much an acquired taste! But for those who can look past all of that, you are amazing individuals and shall be blessed with more and more music from Johnny Pepper.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, in fact, I love to play these songs for anyone who would like to hear them.
Your musical influences
As a musician my influences are metallica, megadeth and bands like that, but as far as JP goes, My influences are whatever rolls around in my mind. Usually funny situations spark a song or two in my mind (i.e. "As My Pants Are Falling Down," "...I Stepped In Poop," & "My Ode To Online Dating"). Or people who are just ridiculous and need songs written about them (i.e. "Mary Kate & Ashley"). But everything else just pops in and outta my head and i just write songs about it.
