John Mailander and Friends
Folks at BanjoJay's Bluegrass Jam in Encinitas (http://www.soundclick.com/bluegrassjaminencinitas) on Thursday March 13, 2008 witnessed a very special event. John Mailander (www.pacificoceanbluegrass.com, www.bluecreekband.com, among others) had a couple of friends from Colorado visiting to give his 5-string fiddle a test drive. Aaron McCloskey (flattop guitar) and Nate Lee (fiddle) from Hard Road Band (http://www.hardroadband.com/biography.htm) in Lyons, Colorado, joined up with John (fiddle), Greg Burroughs (flattop guitar), and Given Harrison (mandolin), all Bluegrass Jam in Encinitas regulars. These musicians performed an oustanding impromptu short set of high energy bluegrass fiddle tunes. This was truly one of those "right place/right time" very special opportunities. Within 15 minutes of meeting each other, the group had established an exciting common ground.Admin
