Has anyone ever heard of Larry Coryell, Victor Bailey or Lenny White? Have you ever heard thier project together also known as CBW? Well its fantastic. They have released two albums, one known as Electric and the other is called Traffic. But my point in case this super star trio is playing the Blue Note on August 29th and 30th in NYC. I dont know about you but I'm veary much looking foward to this performance. For more info go to www.bluenotejazz.com/newyork/schedule/index.shtml or www.chesky.com

This is great stuff. Just listening to Don´t catch me. I didn´t know you would find guitar people today who are so into the Jazz-Genre. Scales, Style, ideas, improvisation. If you don´t mind, I´ll add you to my station (The good stuff) and vote your music hot! Thank you for sharing. This is excellent. Interested in collabs? What do you say?

Wow, you are a great player. I especially like your comping style. You should check out the newsgroup REC.MUSIC.MAKERS.GUITAR.JAZZ, which is a great group of players, and a great discussion of jazz guitar and jazz in general.

I was listening to CJC Gentle rain, and thought to myself how it reminded me of a rain. I was surprised to realize that the song title actually reflected the same idea that the song painted the picture of to me. Good congruence! Nice job. Rick

Hi John, I really liked your interpretation of 'Autumn Leaves' and decided to put it in my own station. Dou you play much around there? I'm from Rio and I keep giggin' here as possible. Regards.

Sorry to keep taking up space, but I also want to mention that John is using Jamey Aebersold play along recordings. That's the reason for the vocal countoff before many of the tracks. The countoff precedes all of the recordings in order to give a cue to the person playing along. It can be annoying, but it can't really be helped. Believe you me, since I go to school where Jamey teaches, these play-alongs are more familiar to me than they should be.

I just want to add that I don't know what John Castellain is talking about. He's certainly entitled to his opinion, but I completely disagree. Your improvisation on Autumn Leaves is hardly a bunch of scales. In fact, it's pretty conservative and lyrical in my opinion. To me, not all the notes of an improvised line make up the melody. Like with Bach, the real melody comes from articulation, and the rest of the notes are more decorative. A typical reaction from someone who doesn't listen to much jazz is that the improvisor is playing a bunch of scales and stuff. The more you listen to improvised jazz, the more you will hear those inner melodies. Anyway, I disagree with John, but the beauty of music is that two people can hear it differently.

You chord melodies are really cool. Your playing reminds me very much of Joe Pass, who I'm sure you probably listen to a lot. After all, you can't really play solo jazz guitar without being influenced by him. I can also hear that you have your own style too. So far I've only scratched the surface, since you have a ton of music on here, but I look forward to hearing more.

Great jazz guitar sound. The kind of stuff I'd like to play, but alas...it's just not my calling. Maybe try a litle less reverb on the guitar sound.

Hey John....First of all, I truly appreciated your comments on my music...I listened to 3 or 4 of your tunes...I enjoyed the interplay between you and the bassist..Being a former bassist myself, I liked the fact that you gave space to the bass to be more free....Best of luck....Jack
