I am a Professional Drummer, Song Writer, Producer of original music. My favorite styles are Funk, Funk/Rock, Rock, R&B, Blues Smooth Jazz, and anything with a groove! My song writing varies from Pop Rock & Funk to issue based eye openers! I also play bass guitar, keyboards, and a little guitar. It helps me to write and compose. Check out the site, listen to some of the songs, and post a message!
Band/artist history
My latest original Band "747"has just released our debut CD Titled "Light it up" in Spring 2009. I also started a project a few years ago and it was short lived. The band was called "THE DISTRACTIONS" out of York, Pa. I have included a few songs that I had written from that project. 1. The Jones in me. ( which was written about my friends drug addiction, which he loss his battle with! 2. Don't get behind ( which is a straight up pop rock song that I had written for vocalist Beth Jones to sing. She also sings on all of The Distractions songs 3.Guardrails in heaven ( which I wrote for my father when he passed.) 4. Solecells ( a groove thang with The Full Tilt horns!) and 5. Drywater ( I guest you could call it countryfunk? I've also done some other solo stuff/demos The project was called "STRANDED MAX" 6. Did you here what I said. 7. Stranded 8. Take me away from here 9. The love you left behind. This was a cool project for me because I played all the music, but I did not have the equipment to record live drums at the time. So I am hoping to one day re-record these songs with live drum tracks, look for them in the future. I originally started playing with my brother in a band called LEAF. I think I was 14? We recorded and played mostly original music in and around the Baltimore/Washington area. The members were myself on Joe Senger Drums/percussion , Billie Senger on Guitars, Bass guitar and Lead Vocals(RIP) and Byron Bowen on Bass Guitar. I have included Many songs from the band on this site. Most of which my brother had written. I did however have a great deal of involvement in the production & music. I loved playing and recording with my brother. There is something about the bond we shared as musicians. We threw a lot of punches, but we had a lot of great times. I miss him 4 sure! There is some great music on this site, and I will continue to add rare songs from LEAF and new recordings that I am working on. Support the music, buy it!, put it on your ipod, or MP3 player and enjoy. Tell a friend. .75 a song is a great deal for everyone! Thanks for listening!!!!!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Currently I am playing with an original band Called "747" and live with a band called "Five by Seven" all over North Florida and Southeast Georiga so check the live music link for details! It's a fun band, stop by one of our gigs and say Hi. Hope to see you there! Got Funk? We'll have you dancing all night!
Your musical influences
Growing up in the 70s, POP Funk ruled for me. Sly, James Brown, you name the 70s funk band and I'll say "that' it!" LED ZEPPELIN for sure, what a great band!!! There was no better time keeper than John! Stewart Copeland from The Police, I thought have the best snare stroke I'd ever heard, so I have tried to put the kick of John with the snap of Stewart. It's a great mix! There are many more, but I only have so much room. My brothers funk band Pentagon was also a huge influence. The drummer Tony Shields was blind, but that did not stop him from landing the pocket! I love to play in the pocket, when a bass player and solid drummer hold down a groove, there is nothing else like it!
What equipment do you use?
Tama, Mapex, Zildjian, Promark to name a few!
Anything else?
I love recording, writing, and producing. I would love to help out an original project. I would also like some major acts to record some of my songs.
