Joel Alan Lehman

Hello, I am Joel Alan Lehman. Are we havin' fun yet?
Band/artist history
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Joel found a friend in the guitar when he was only eleven years old. Influenced by every kind of music under the sun, he played Johnny B. Goode for a few years until he found his niche and played his first paying gig at 17 tears old! Joel played throughout the early 80s with his brothers Jack and Steve, and after the brothers moved on to other things, he fronted several bands of his own. Joel continued the Band Thing through the early 90s playing honky tonks and dives, weddings and funerals, backyards and rooftops, alleyways and street corners, anywhere and everywhere that would have him, pay him, or let him pay them. He wrote a few songs during those years and moved to Music City (Nashville) in 1996, where he started writing more and eventually put together an album of his music. The album, The Dark Side Of Town, did well for Joel, though it was self produced and did not get the accolades it deserved. In February 2003, Joel hooked up with Producer and head of Wild Oats Records, Steve Haggard. In Joels words, Ive found a true friend and musical brother in Steve. I knew from the start that he would steer me in the right direction. What was to become of that relationship was the somewhat autobiographical album Pure Texan. Asked if he would pick a quote that best summarized himself, he chose a line from David Allan Coes "Wood and Steel": "I'll be playing this guitar, 'til the day I die!".
