All my songwriting comes from a place of total honesty and a sense of sarcasm. I sing about love and all the emotional complexities of being in love, losing yourself, toughening yourself up and all in all the struggles of being alive.
Band/artist history
In Chicago: Funeral of Trees, Circle Horse and Fuzz.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
On my twenty-first birthday I played a benefit concert in Hammond, Indiana on the Purdue University campus. There were about ten people in audience and I don't think anyone clapped or paid attention to us in the slightest. That seemed to mark the beginning of the end. I do love to play live and Chicago was a great place to do all that. Then I discovered the studio and that was way more fun.
Your musical influences
80's influenced crap with a bit of an edge and slightly more introspective lyrics.
Anything else?
I just like singing and the fitting together of music and lyrics. I admire the songs of other people/bands who just keep it simple and honest whether that honesty is aggressive or quiet or full of expletives...I like when people use music as an expression - not a product.
