Jim Smart
The busier I am, the more songs my brain spins out. These songs were all written in the summer of 2004, during a head spinning burst of creativity.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live by myself in coffee shops, and I'm a member of several bands around Honolulu. I play bass and keyboards in a Beatle band called The DayTrippers. I play acoustic guitar and sing in a group called Don't Panic.
Your musical influences
I've been inspired by Wilco, Neil Young, Lucinda Williams, Fountains of Wayne, Brian Wilson, The Kinks, XTC, Kirsty MacColl, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Pete Townshend, Pink Floyd, and The Clash.
What equipment do you use?
"real" instruments like acoustic guitars, drums, and pianos, harmonicas, violins, cellos, steel guitar, etc.
