"Jimmy Joe Long and the Little York Road Blues Band". We are a working blues band from the greater Houston, Conroe Texas area. We record for CjB Records and own our own recording studio. Besides cover material we also write, record and perform our own original material. We perform approximately eight to ten dates a month. The band consists of four great experienced, mature musicians:
Jimmy Joe Long - Guitar and Vocals.
Don Carroll - Saxophone and Keybords.
Charlie Knight - Bass
Don Lacy - DrumsBand/artist history
The history of the band is too long to list everything. To summarize: Jimmy Joe Long has played music most of his life. He has played in several different bands. In most of them he was the leader. He has toured numerous cities in the U.S. Besides Jimmy being a great singer and guitar player he is the son of nationally known recording artist Joey Long. Don Carroll also has played music most of his life. He was a member of the United States Navy Band for twenty years. After retiring from the Navy he toured with a group named Thunder Road out of Virginia until he moved back to Texas. Charlie Knight has played with several major artists including Miss Molly and the Whips and The Viscounts. Don Lacy has been playing music since he was fourteen years old. He and Don Carroll had a band named "Don Lacy and the Downbeats and later he moved to Nashville, Tennessee and played on the grand Ole opry with Jack Greene and Jeannie Seally. This is an experienced band.Have you performed in front of an audience?Of course we perform live. We play various clubs and concerts in our area and travel to other states as well.
Your musical influences
Too many to list. If a person can play well, whether or not they or famous they may have been an influence. What equipment do you use?
We do not endorse any particular equipment. We pay for our own equipment.Anything else?
Our band not only plays great music we put on a great show. If we're ever in your area or you're ever in our area, come see us and we'll make a believer out of you.LUCAS BLUES

I got to know you through Mississipi Spud when I provided him a sax in Horizontal Blues and you did the same. I am not the sax player but the guy who got the guy to play the part. I manage the bluexbox page. There is lots of our stuff there and more to come.
I love your music and style.
