Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Jimmy Cris was born in the rolling hills of Greenwich in upstate NY where he grew up on a farm and spent his youth throwing hay, riding horses, and partying with his friends. Toward the end of his high school years he discovered the guitar and the rest, as they say, is history. He soon found himself playing in local country and rock bands and living the musician lifestyle before he graduated high school. Destined for bigger and better things, Jimmy packed his things and went to Boston where he attended the Berklee College of Music on scholarship and studied blues and jazz. It was about this time that he discovered his gift for songwriting and spent his time in the Boston music scene entertaining the Northeast with his country/rock sounds. During this time Jimmy was a featured artist in top Boston clubs and radio shows but realized that in order to take his talent to the next level he needed to move to the home of country music. In 1999 on a wing and a prayer, a few bucks in pocket, and his life in the back of a pickup he moved to Nashville determined to make a success of himself. Shortly after his arrival Jimmy set up a recording studio and began producing artists and songwriters and performing on countless demos for record and publishing companies. Jimmy's debut CD-"Naturally" was recorded in his studio using Nashville session musicians that he has befriended since his arrival and features his unique voice and hot guitar playing. His songs are written from the heart and draw on his many experiences and dreams in life. I hope you enjoy the music and please drop him a line and let him know what you think.
