Jim Barile spirit

Acoustic Folk Music | 8 tracks and 391 streams.

This artist has been writing for the past 20 years in an eclectic alternative folk style of music. Though Jim Barile isn't pop, his music tends to be very reflective with many romantic mystical spiritual undertones that can be intrinsically felt all through his music, "If You Get Close You Can Hear". In view of writing, this artist states that the most important thing in this world is to take time to be still to be able to recognize the little wonders in life that at times can be only recognized in our dislocated moments in our everyday. Special appearances on this CD disc: Delaney Bramlett, from Delaney & Bonnie and Friends. Delaney has played with such greats as Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, and George Harrison. Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
“If You Get Close You Can Hear” Producer/Arranger Chad Watson Mastered by - Nancy Matter of Moonlight Mastering Eleven haunting, moody, romantic tales of the American west sung with the uniquely raspy voice of Jim Barile, like a weary wolf howling low on the highest mountain beckoning the moon to lend her light on the pathway home. Produced and arranged by Chuck Watson, the music is undeniably a journey through a ghost town of images described beautifully in Barile’s melancholy baritone that lingers like Tom Waits shadow or the last drop of a Jack and Coke. Guest artists include a who’s who of rock legends yet all blends magically so that the focus of the stories never lose their edge by distraction. Albert Lee, Delaney Bramlett, John Molo, Jeff Pevar, Rosemary Butler, Essra Mohawk, Mickey Raphael, Augie Meyers and Sky Sunlight Saxon lend their talents to the masterful sounds engineered by Mary White of Op Sound Studios in North Hollywood. As you wait for a song to kick into high gear, it never does, but somehow, you ’re transported beyond the normal rock and roll into a space and time known to those on the other side, as well as those here with souls eager to drink from Jim Barile’s well of spiritual deliverance. Favorite tracks that remain in your head include “Ghostdance”, “She Blew Me a Kiss”, “Life Summed Up”, and “Dislocated Moments”. The final track is a cover, “Helpless”, lending a mighty nod to Neil Young’s influence drawing on those who sang around campfires under prairie skies. As a songwriter Jim Barile’s honesty and emotional vulnerability are laid out for the listener to hear if you can get close enough. As he describes in his liner notes: “This cd is about coming close to hear and see the precious things in life that can only be recognized in what I call dislocated moments where we take time out to be still, which in turn will eventually put us in touch with the truth. This cd is about being free to love.” With instruments including trumpets, harps, harmonica, mandolin, low end bass lines, and vocal harmonies from the ethereal realms, you’ll learn to love the songwriter’s intent and no, there’s not one track with pounding drums or loud lead guitars, but man, it rocked me all the same. Pour a glass of wine and spend some time with Jim Barile. - Toni K READ MORE ABOUT THIS ELITE MEMBER HERE Buy CD Songsalive.org
