Jig Saw
My stage name is G-Smooth aka Jig Saw. I produce intellectual and thoughtful, flow and melody driven songs. I was largely influenced by early-mid nineties rap and therefore have a lot of lyrically driven content as well. I was one of the vocalists in the band, "Wormzilla", and subsequently lead vocalist of the same band after the founding member and emcee Adam took leave of the group (www.myspace.com/wormzillaband). We played frequently in Saint Augustine, FL.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've always had it in me, then I decided to do it.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
In Saint Augustine, the nation's oldest city. I like playing live a lot; every moment is special.
Your musical influences
Tupac, Biggie, Big Pun, Nas, Mos Def, Rakim, Black Thought, AZ, Tonedef, Alicia Keys, Maxwell... the list goes on.
What equipment do you use?
My vocal chords, my mic, my mixer, my headphones, my midi controller, my pc and software. For shows, a live band.
Anything else?
Don't worry so much about what the next person thinks.
