J Focuz

Born on May 28th, 1991 in Wyandotte, MI and raised in Inkster,MI. Focuz born as Jordan Harris was born with a love for hip-hop music. Growing up listening to artists like Jayz and 2pac, it got Focuz more into writing songs of his own. By age 13 he had put out his first mixtape called "Heat in the Winter" and he has been chasing the dream ever since. Doing songs with established artists like Yung La and being mentored shortly by the late MC Breed, Focuz put out his first official mixtape "Free Agent" in 2009. Featuring his first single "Let Me See" produced by The Olympicks (Maybach Music) and recently shot a video for it. Focuz has shared the stage with the likes of Mc Breed, V.I.C., P.L., and Tone Tone. "Let Me See" which is currently getting spins on WJLB FM 98 is proving to be more than other local artists expected as Focuz continues his steady rise to the top. Focuz has recently gained the attention of Konvict Music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live every where I can get a chance to. The most special moment was the first time I was on stage and people were singing my lyrics along with me. It was crazy to know that people I dont even know know my music.
Your musical influences
Music in general influences me. I like the sounds and melodies and even the lyrics. Music is just a major motivater in my life. I can listen to Pop music, or Rap, or even Rock and I can get inspired to write something great.
