Jewel Thieves
The Jewel Thieves are the new face of underground Chicago rap. From deep within the streets of one of the biggest cities in the nation, three individuals with their own styles contribute to a group of fresh variety. LoKuS, with his sick flows and clever lyrics, is the creative mind behind the group. Muffin Man, dude with the smooth content in his rhymes and flow, brings the flavor when its needed. Spawn, bro wit the dark sound and psychotic edge, delivers for the homies depending on him. All three together form the notorious group known as the JEWEL THIEVES, who wont think twice about blowin out yall ear holes with a new type of sound in the underground.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
LoKuS and Spawn been bros ever since childhood. Back in grammar school, these 2 individuals picked up the mic 4 the first time, and it was on. It was luv at first grab. Although lyrically and audibly the shit wasn't that great, they worked at it for a while. Eventually, Spawn put the mic down to pursue other activities (sports).
Meanwhile, LoKuS kept workin' on the shit. He would make tracks with other underground artists to perfect his game. Eventually, he made a group with a fresh dude named James G from Atlanta. Together, they formed the "Cane Capers". They released their first cd, "Year of the Cape", in the fall of 2005. The cd was a moderate success. When LoKuS got his boy Spawn to do a colab entitled "Killing Spree", it was clear that LoKuS successfully brought one of his bros back in the game. United, LoKuS and Spawn formed the Jewel Thieves, inspired through some of their past experiences. When the Jewel Thieves laid out a track for the Bankrupt mixtape, it was an inspiration to start an entire cd of their own. On "What We About", (the first official JT song) LoKuS and Spawn did a fresh track wit 2 other Chi-town boyz named Flux and Muffin Man. Even though the track got descent reviews, Flux felt that it was in his best interest to quit and put the mic down. However, Muffin Man decided to stay. Spawn knew Muf from watchin' some of his battles with other MC's(Muffin Man got mad rhymes when it comes to a freestyle battle, and thats the type shit he brings). So the three of these thieves come together to serve ya asses up wit a lil' sumthin yall never seen b4. Today, its the mid-Spring of 2006 and the first Jewel Thieves cd is about to drop any day now, so keep ya ears peeled.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
