Jester's Court...
up and coming new musical project from PennsylvaniaBand/artist history
Evolving (update coming later)Have you performed in front of an audience? As a band? No, as a solo artist, once in a while, I hope this will change after the demo is finished and I can look around for musicians to help me on my sonic journey.
Your musical influences
Folk meets alternative? Rock meets Dirge? Tool, Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Less than Jake, Muse, Chicago, Bob Dylan... all big influences. I won't deny stuff like Raffi influnced me early on as well. What equipment do you use?
As of 2005, my setup for recording these demos is:
Ibanez Artcore 75t (that's a hollow body electric) running through a Line6 GuitarPort, which is connected to my Dell Inspiron, which is running the latest version of Mackey's Tracktion, where I do my multi-tracking. I'm pretty new to mixing and mastering, so if anyone has some friendly advice, feel free to share. There is only one more day left of this semester, and then I am going to be home for nearly 3 whole weeks in Hollidaysburg. I purchased a new guitar (an Ibanez Artcore 75T) and some recording things, so let's see if writing and recording can continue throughout the holidays. I am feeling really driven right now, I hope this feeling stays with me for at least the next month.Alright, an update! There is an open mic on campus at Pitt November 1st, and I am considering it. Just last night I finished up the very-rough cut instrumental demo of "Dreamer's Lament"... It is being sent around to people who are being instructed not to share it under any circumstances. I am still debating over whether mixing down the "drums and guide vocal" track was a smart idea, or if I should have completely removed it, instead of burying it deep in the mix, so that at certain points you hear whispering (me screaming) and what sounds like clicking (percussive hits)... You'll have this, I guess.Hello everyone... sorry that it's been so long, a lot has gone on and it's nearly October already... I plan on being productive over this Christmas break, so look for some new somewhat-definitive versions of songs that you have heard about. Still planning on a small coffee-shop tour... Just need someone to plan it for me, and I need to show up. If you can help me out in either the Hollidaysburg or Pittsburgh area, let me know! All comments (4)
