Jessi Hamilton is a pop-folk singer/songwriter and pianist from Raleigh, NC. Jessi began playing the piano at age four and started writing and recording her first songs at fourteen. In 2004, she released her debut self-titled album, and completed her second album, "Rebirth," in 2008. She has been named "one of the best independent female artists in the country" by RockRGrl magazine. She has also been featured on numerous recordings and has performed along the East Coast.
"People need to hear Jessi's voice. She is an artist who sings with a sincerity that will melt people's souls. Mine did."
"(Jessi Hamilton) has a really beautiful voice . . . It is reminiscent of both Stevie Nicks and Madonna."
"I am honored to be working with Jessi Hamilton. These are great songs with very strong melodies. She is a remarkable talent."
"Jessi Hamilton is living proof that there are still musical artists out there who are individually evolved rather than mass-produced."
"Don't be fooled! Jessi Hamilton is not some gorgeous fashion model who wants to be a singer. Ok, the gorgeous part is true, but trust me, this girl can sing! And she's a quirky, intelligent songwriter too. You'll be glad you were introduced to Jessi Hamilton."Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes. I'm mainly doing shows around the Raleigh, NC area, but am planning to start booking some more shows along the East coast. I love performing. One of my favorite performance opportunities has been working with Night of Dreams. Every year since 2003, a group of local musicians and artists has put on a show to benefit different charities. This has been a great way for me to meet some incredible local talent and use my music for a good cause.
Your musical influences
I grew up listening to Broadway and classical music. In middle school, I fell in love with Sarah McLachlan’s music and started listening to some more contemporary artists. Some of my favorite artists now and musical inspirations are Stevie Wonder, Prince, Sting, Oasis, The Beatles, Nirvana, Ella Fitzgerald and Carole King, to name a few. What equipment do you use?
