Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
My name is Jerry Lynn Parks, I was born in Radford, VA & now reside in the beautiful mountains of TN.
I've been playing music for 63 years, I'm still kicking & still picking!
I write my own songs, sing them & play all the instruments. I write Christian & Country music & occasionally write love songs.
I always say "it's so much easier to write about it when you have lived it"!
I was born in song with a love to carry it on from the heart of a family that believed.
I come from a long line of Christian musicians. My great great Grandmother was a music teacher & played in Church. My great Grandmother also played in Church. My Grandmother, Mother & Aunt sang on the radio & also played in Church. I guess you can say the gifts of God through music have carried on in me.
I have been playing music since the ripe young age of 7. My first performance was at the early age of 8 where I played for 800 people in N.N., VA. At the age of 15 I started writing & have enjoyed it ever since. As time went on I got into folk, country & bluegrass music. Around the age of 23 at a bluegrass competition in Glouster, VA I won first place as male vocalist & second place playing the harmonica. About the age of 25 I got to jam with Marty Stuart at a bluegrass festival in Williamsburg, VA. Around the age of 32 I also wrote a jingle for a country radio station in N.N. VA. I've played a lot of night clubs through the years from VA Beach to Blacksburg, VA. Later on in life I started playing through my local Church at the juvenile jail, the city farm jail & nursing homes in N.N., VA.
Currently living in TN & hoping to Bless others along my way.
