The Jerks in Jeans. We have been wrecking people for 5 yrs. We are a great melodic bassed band. We don't really fit into any one style of music. If you listen to the album, you will soon know that we don't tend to repeat ourselves. There is nothing wrong with having a diverse album. The big record companies will tell you there is, because if you have 1 hit and the whole record sounds that way you could have more hits. Songs are like anything else. No two are alike. So listen to the songs on here and make your own judgement. You can visit us at www.jerksinjeans.com Take care and enjoy the next big thing now. The Indigent one!
Band/artist history
Jerks in Jeans The Jerks in Jeans. The birth of the essence of Power-Pop, Folk, Rock. The story begins with a short trip to Juarez Mexico. I had never played guitar before, But a friend of mine was a bass player and the idea of being a musician was always cool. On that short trip to the dirtiest and creepiest place on EARTH, I found an Espanola in the window of a little pawn shop. The Espanola was an affordable acoustic guitar, Barely. It came with a book of chords. I bought it. So the story begins. After learning a few parcial chords I played my first show with the White Crayon. I was the opening act. Equipted with my 5 songs and an attitude, I took the stage. I then persuaded the croud to sit on the filthy floor of a dive bar and gather for a good old fashion Hoot-in-Nanny. After fumbling through my set I felt alive like I haven’t before, it was either the music rush or the ice cubes that had hit my while performing. Shortly after that infamous show, The White Crayon had a falling out with some of the members. The remaining members took me under there wings and the Jerks in Jeans were born. The name spawns from a Charlie Manson quote. “I see you fix a greens, submarines, jelly beans and Jerks in Jeans”. We really didn’t like the name then and still don’t. It just stuck, Like peanut butter to the roof of your mouth. After a few minor line up changes and adjustments we had what we thought was the best band in the world.... Okay in Cleveland at least. We were landing some really great gigs. We had opened for the Howard Stern Wack Pack. The show was a huge success. We were lined up to do a 6 city tour, Based on the Cleveland show. Wow how great we get to play for people in other states and get a couple bucks.. Wrong..The lead guitar player and partial lead singer managed to bite the hand feeding us. Over something really stupid. So that was gone and so was the lead guitar player. Shortly after we regained our composure we filled the void quite nicely. But of course nothing good ever works for too long. We had filled the void with someone who wanted to be Jimmy Page, But was to panic stricken to face the crowd. He also began to become really Creepy. Then one day at practice Ray and Don had a little tiff, That ended up being a funny but not really altercation . He Moved out that night. We found a new guy who was talented, But didn’t want to get to involved. He was in College. Wanted to be an engineer, Later he joined the air force, Only after becoming an amazing guitar player. Practice spot rent was getting to much for us to deal with on a condensed line up so we got rid of it. About a week before Ray and I had a tiff as well. It was 3 years before I called him back. We call him the cold bitter bastard, But I am a little more bitter than he is. So finally I put to rest all the resentment I had and realized it wasn’t what it seemed to be. The reason for the lapse in time was nothing more than a mis communication, And some alcohol induced thinking out loud. So I called him and left him a message. About a week later at 3:15 am I get a call, Its Ray. He tells me that he is listening to a Japanese import of St. Pepper and its blowing his FUCKING mind. Later we talked during sober daylight hours and decided to stated the Friday acoustic jams at his place. It wasn’t long before we got serious again. We still had our drummer Scooter, He and I would play from time to time. And then a friend of mine was playing Lead for me when Ray got back into it with the Jerks. Until he got some young tail and had to bail. He found some “love” or something like it and wasn’t into the band anymore. This leads us to the present day. We were going to start the pain stacking search for a guy that would play lead and gel with us. We were reading the ads in the paper and called on an ad, It read “ Singer/Songwriter Lead guitar looking for band or bass player, drummer, and keys”. So we called him and he came down. A knock on the door at the new rehearsal studio.. Knock Knock. We open the door and here is this kid with his Les Paul and a peavy 1/12 amp. I am like oh man this kid is gonna want to play metal. When he walked in we were watching Blood Sucking Freaks. It’s a movie I don’t think he has ever seen or wanted to, But he had good chops and didn’t seem to mind the quality of the visual entertainment that we love so well, so we asked him back to another practice. He began to “gel” with us pretty quickly, Not bad for the first guy we tried out. That never happens. Its always a pain in the ass to try out someone new for the band. We had found our guy. He is what we are all about, Serious about the music and talented. That leads us to the current and final line up of the Jerks in Jeans. Ray Sacova on bass/Songwriter. Scooter Shatner on drums and Mike the dentist on Lead/Songwriter/Singer and Myself. Joe Indigent Singer/Songwriter and Rhythm guitar. We are a solid ass kicking rock band from the underbelly of all the horseshit that is being released now. Cleveland Rocks. Not really. We have the hall of fame, But we don’t have a music scene. We are currently working on the Import of a scene. We are bringing in other acts from all over the country. We starting our own thing. We will play gigs with these bands and then go to there places and Spread the legs of the music industry for some Penetration of the Jerks in Jeans. The music industry is just like trying to nail the captain of the cheerleading squad. If she doesn’t notice you at first you have to find another way to appeal to her. So that is what we are doing now. We putting some new tracks down for our first album. We are getting hooked up with SoundScan to track our enormous success, Getting the all mighty web page set up and going and play our ass’s off where ever and when ever we can. Shameless self promotion. We are going to make people stop and listen. We will be at the top of the music world relatively soon. We are not going to stop until we do.
