Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I'm 25. I started when I was about 5 from what I was told. I used to sit on my dad's drummer's knee, because I couldn't reach the kick, and play. i was only child too.. My mother has a beautiful voice. She tried her career in Nashville for years.. Many a night a different guitar player would be in and out of the garage.. And I figured the only way to make friends was to....play guitar! Apparently that's what the world was doing.. So I picked up a second generation beater out of the closet and started paying attention out in the garage off to myself. I never knew the chords, and I pretty much just played around until something sounded good.. Plus I grew up in the 80's. Mom said she'd go to Hell before I was a hairband slasher. So on came the records.. Yeah vinyl. James Taylor, Fleetwood, (lindsay Buckingham,...Jesus need I say more.) Seger, 38 Special, (jeff Carlisi) Journey, (Neal Schon), A lot of old country, Restless Heart, those bands had great harmony. Then came....well Clapton. That was all she wrote.. I've never heard so much soul come out of somebody's fingers. I started playing Piano when I was 14 once I heard the theme to Rain Man. (Hans Zimmer). Then all the sudden I started film composing.. So it's a wide forray of music.. I went in the Navy when I was 19 and joined a band on the USS George Washington. Two years later off the coast of Lisbon, Portugal we opened up for 3 Doors Down when they filmed the video to "Hold me when I'm gone". Fun times, great group of guys. I got out in January of 2003 and I came home to Indiana. It's not a huge music scene here as you can imagine so the internet is all in all your best friend when you have a full time job. But I love what I do and hopefully someday others will too:) I hope you enjoy what you hear and maybe even relate to a few of them. That's why I wrote them! cheers!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Right now with no band, About the only places to play are open mics. I love the intimacy of an acoustic and a crowd close to you.
