Hi! My name is Jeni, and this is my music page.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I grew up around guitars, but I didn't start learning to play until I was 19 [self taught]. I've sung all my life, and probably will continue to do so forever. I've only written songs for a few years.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I DID IT, I actually forced myself to play at an open mic night [at Durty Nellies - Palatine, IL]. After I got over my nerves it was actually pretty cool. And I didn't forget my chords [I said that I would]. I didn't play anything of my own, though -- only covers. I am too shy about my own stuff.
Your musical influences
My musical influences are indescribable [anything and everything], but Michelle Branch and Jewel are probably somewhat comparable artists.
What equipment do you use?
My sad little Ovation guitar that deserves a much better player than I am. And now a Washburn, as well.
Anything else?
Whee. I want to collaborate. Anyone in my area, drop me a line. I want a band [so that I don't have to be onstage all by myself!!].
