I began singing at age eight at which time I was very sensitive about hitting right notes at that age. I
remember I had to sing O Little Town of Bethlehem and I messed up and started crying, but remember
saying that would never happen again at early age I know god expects excellence. After that episode I began singing in my church joining The Teens
for Christ when I turned 13 which was a group formed by my pastor Rev. Donald P. Turner of Second
Baptist Church in Homestead Pa. Four years later I began singing secular music with a group called Sky
Caravan traveling around from city to city. A few years later I returned to my gospel roots after giving my
life fully to Christ and now still a member of the Worship team at my church Petra Ministries headed by
Bishop Donald Clay. I sing and play bass guitar, and we are in the process of recording a Praise and
Worship CD. I also have a family group The Small family ensemble in which all members are blood
relatives and we have been traveling around the Tri State area spreading the gospel through song. Lastly I
am a member of Spirit Filled Ministries a gospel group consisting of members from all backgrounds
overcoming all iniquities from drug abuse to alchohol abuse too spousal abuse but the ministry is a true
testimony of the power of God. I myself over came dealing drugs, alcohol and fornication realizing that
there is more too life than what the world can offer. I longed for an inner peace that couldn’t be found
anywhere else but Jesus Christ so I totally submitted my life to him and all of my past iniquities were
purged. We recently toured in Dayton Ohio and will be heading to St Louis. We also won the award for best gospel group in
Pittsburgh a year ago which was a great honor. The one concert that really touched my heart that we
performed at was an event for the homeless
The Light of Life to witness to and save soles along with feeding the hungry was the best feeling I have
ever experienced and that is what true ministering of gospel is about which moved me to record my present
CD Send Up The Praise which is a compilation of songs from my spirit through the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, and I will continue to write songs from the heart that will inspire those that don’t know Jesus to at
least acknowledge the fact that he does live in all of us!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do play in the tri state area of Pitsburgh Pa and have traveled to St Louis and Ohio.
