julie and jim collaborated after julie contacted jim to join a local theater which promoted open mike nights and musical groups. julie, a member of the riverside stringband (jim was a former member), and jim, a member of the fringeband, discovered that they had similar musical interests and that their styles meshed harmonically. they joined each other for a fund-raiser for the theater and, after being well-received, decided to collaborate on more music.

Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
we play live anywhere we're invited -- locally at the new london little theater, a winery, coffee shops, etc. oh, at parties, too! we enjoy live performances -- the best opportunity to connect with what really matters -- people who enjoy the process of music, not just the final cut.
What equipment do you use?
julie uses an acoustic/electric takamini. jim prefers his line6 ac700. both of us play banjo, mandolin, etc.
