I think Tupac for one, his vibes an personal experiences get me through the day sometime, Rakim, just one nasty ass emcee... KRS-One, his teachings through his music is something I think we all need once in awhile, BIG, what more needs to be said. Run DMC, for mixing up hiphop, into other genres, so that we can stick around as long as possible. Eminem, no not because of his race, but because of his mean ass wordplay and verbal skills, arguably the best emcee in the game right now. And who can forget the Sugar Hill Gang... Rappers Delight will be my #1 moment in hiphop for a long time.
