Jazz Alchemy
Jazz Alchemy is the name of jazz duo i ran a few years ago, & i've adopted the name for my original jazz recordings, here.
1980.
Began playing electric bass. Joined heavy rock band: 'White Heat'.
1982.
Formed own band 'Dancing Shiva'. ('Space-Rock', a la Hawkwind)
1984
Joined 'Ty Garner's Blues Band'.
1985
Switched from bass guitar to lead guitar.
Joined rock band: 'Stoney Road'.
1987 - 1989.
Concentrated on home recordings. (some of which are listed under 'Shiva's Dance'.
Formed blues/rock band: 'Dark Horse'.
1991
Got in jazz guitar. Formed: 'Swing '91'.
1993
Joined 'Knights of Jazz' & formed 'Django's Tigers'. (both bands ran concurrently)
1996 - Present day.
Formed 'Hot Club'.
The nucleus of this band is:
Wayne Jefferies - Acoustic/Electric Guitar
Paul Johnson - Acoustic Guitar
John Coulson - Double Bass
In 1997, the band was augmented by Matt Palmer on Clarinet & Saxophones, briefly becoming the 'Hot Club of Nottingham'.
In 2000 the band was augmented by Lizzy Ramsay on Violin & Vocals, briefly becoming 'The Swing Club', & i formed a duo with Lizzy Ramsay called 'Jazz Alchemy'.
The current line up features semi-regular member: Mike Turner on clarinet & saxophone.
Mainly the great Django Reinhardt, & the awesome guitarist; Bireli Lagrene.
Hi Wayne.

Jazz is not a terratory I am that familer with,so excuse my ignorance.
