NOT JAZZ is a power trio which features original songs with vocals and extended solos in live performance. NOT JAZZ is typically a trio which has guest artists such as other vocalists occasionally. The band performs mainly original material and features extended jam sessions in amongst the vocally oriented songs. Bandleader Mike Rewa plays rythm and lead guitar and writes most of the songs. The rythm section of drums and bass feature rotating members.

Virtually all of my music is deeply rooted in improvisation -- not just in the jazz idiom, but Western classical, Middle Eastern, East Indian, North African, and Indonesian. I am very fortunate to have worked with many fine musicians, many of whom you will hear in these recordings. I welcome any comments you might have.
